Each of our Brand Ambassadors represents the true value and heritage of Estrella Galicia, using the best quality Spanish ingredients to bring a taste of Spain to the UK. Many of our ambassadors we have worked with for a number of years and we are proud to be continuing our partnership with them. Across the year we will host chef-hosted events with our ambassadors, share recipes from their kitchen to yours and learn more about the inspiration behind their dishes.

Nieves Barragan

Restaurant: Sabor | Location: London

Nieves grew up in Bilbao in Spain’s Basque region, learning from an early age about the region’s produce and cuisine. Together with Jose Etura, Nieves opened Sabor in 2018, Sabor was awarded its first Michelin star in 2018, the first year it opened. Michelin-starred Sabor celebrates Spain’s regional cuisine at its counter restaurant, asador and bar, now Nieves Barragan Mohacho and Jose Etura have created Sabor en Casa. Sabor en Casa continues the celebration of Spanish food through carefully curated meals delivered to your door and finished and plated at home.

Angel Zapata Martin

Restaurant: Barrafina | Location: London

Executive chef of London’s four Barrafina restaurants, including one Michelin starred, Barrafina in Dean Street. Barcelona born Angel Zapata Martin is a figurehead for authentic Spanish tapas in the UK. Angel manages to stay true to authenticity and traditional tapas which is demonstrated by the menu at Barrafina whilst at the same time propelling rustic tapas dishes into Michelin-starred territory. Angel showcases his unique Catalonian style of cuisine on the daily specials board as well as the full menu on at the recently launched Barrafina Mariscos Drury Lane.


Restaurant: Bar 44 Group & Asador 44 | Location: London

Bar 44 group was founded by Owen Morgan, in 2002. Having fallen in love with Spanish food, drink and culture over time, he wanted to bring his favourite tapas dishes and a slice of modern Spanish culture to the UK. Based in South Wales and the West Country, there are now four Bar 44 outlets, in Cowbridge, Penarth, Cardiff and Bristol. Each bar offers different food and drink menus in order to showcase the huge variety of quality Spanish produce available. Owen also founded Asador 44 in Cardiff, which focusing on preparing and cooking the finest fo ingredients over charcoal.

Monika Linton

Restaurant: Brindisa | Location: London

Monika Linton founded Brindisa in 1988. After the arrival of the ground-breaking shop in Borough Market, the first Brindisa tapas restaurant opened in Borough Market in 2004, and Brindisa has since grown to include five London restaurants and another in Barcelona. Back in 1988 when Monika founded Brinidsa, knowledge of Spanish gastronomy was almost non-existent in the UK. Today, fine Spanish food is firmly on the gastronomes’ map. Monika and the team at Brindisa is proud to have played a part in this change.

Gustavo Marin

Restaurant: The Embassy | Location: Hale

Born in Andalusia-Spain, Chef Gustavo has over 20 years of experience in the industry, working across the world, with many Michelin-starred chefs. The menu at The Embassy and particularly the menu for this very special event, takes inspiration from the wealth of experience Gustavo has developed over his many years in the industry.

Miguel Angel Major

Restaurant: Rioja | Location: Glasgow

Chef Miguel, who previously worked at the world-famous El Bulli, received his first Michelin star in 2017 at Sucede in Valencia, with the goal of reviving history through fusion and haute cuisine. Rioja marks his first UK appointment in his culinary career.

Daniel Keane

Restaurant: Urban Brewing | Location: Dublin

Dan’s first contact with the hospitality came when he was only fifteen, in his hometown, Leixlip, since then he hasn;t looked back, working in restaurants in Ireland and overseas. Dan became Head Chef of Urban Brewing & Stack A Restaurant since before the opening in Summer 2017.
